There’s a new makeup hack the internet can’t stop talking about, and it’s called the ‘Boyfriend Blush’.
Thanks to TikTok user @amybthatsme, this viral video has sparked a wave of love for tiny makeup habits that just hit differently, and sitting right at the top is this clever (and lowkey romantic) blush trick.
So, what is this boyfriend blush? It’s the idea of applying your blush lower, basically below your cheekbones.
Almost as if your boyfriend has just kissed you on the cheek and it’s left a shy little flush behind. People in the comments are living for it, and honestly, same.
Unlike blush, which is usually swept across the apples of the cheeks or higher up on the cheekbones, this technique leans into a more natural-looking flush.
Which sounds perfect if you’re trying to achieve that natural everyday look.
But that’s not the only makeup technique getting its flowers in the comment section.
One user swears by the ‘Katie Jane Hughes method ' to prime the brush before any liquid application. Putting on foundation? Put the product onto the back of your hand first, work it into the brush from the back of your hand, then apply it to your face. Game changer.
Another crowd fave? Dark brown eyeliner instead of black for a softer, more subtle, and way more forgiving look.
Calling all brown eyed girlies, burgundy mascara is where it’s at for you!
One comment I’m a bit sceptical about is to “never put mascara on the bottom lashes”. Apparently, it makes your eyes look WAY bigger and doesn’t draw attention to dark circles.
There you go, a couple of new little hacks to add to your routine. Hoping this ‘boyfriend blush’ actually works… though a real boyfriend wouldn’t hurt either.
But hey, at least our cheekbones will be glowing like we’re in L-O-V-E.
