Watch: Australian bloke has the most casual reaction after getting bitten by a snake

A viral video shows the bloke just casually being bitten by an olive python snake.

An Aussie dad had the most casual reaction to getting bitten by his pet snake recently.

A video doing the rounds on the internet shows a New South Wales man sitting on his couch next to a couple of olive python snakes, who we can only assume are his pets.

The bloke lets the snake sniff his arm for a while, before the snake launches at him, sinking its teeth into the man’s arm and coiling its body around him.

The bloke’s daughter, who was filming the video, gasps loudly in shock and jolts the camera, while the man with the bloody snake on his arm couldn’t be more unfazed. He can be heard remarking, "I should’ve washed my hands” as he shakes his head.

News.com.au report that the man had just walked his dogs and hadn’t washed his hands, meaning their smell still would've been fresh on his arm.

The snake would’ve picked up the dog’s scent and thought the bloke’s arm was food, triggering its feeding reflex and causing it to act out - not in aggression - but instinctively reacting to a familiar smell.

While olive python snakes are non-venomous, they are the second largest snake in Australia, growing up to 4 meters - and some growing even larger than that.

The video, which was posted last month, has racked up 1.5 million views on Facebook, with a bunch of people in the comments remarking how ‘Australian’ the video is.

“This is the most Australia that Australia could Australia,” wrote one person.

“He politely let the danger noodle sniff him first,” another wrote.

Ah, ‘Straya aye.
