It is that time - KFC double downs are BACK.
The chicken-y cheesy creations have returned to the menu for a limited time, and as well as the OG, there's two new ways to double down in town.
The Korean Mayo and Cheesy Hash flavours are a couple of twists on the cult classic.
The Korean Mayo edition is a ‘bolder and spicier’ choice, with two zinger fillets, bacon, cheese and spicy korean mayo.
Not a fan of the extra kick? Cheesy Hash might be more a bitta you.
It has the two zinger fillets, bacon, cheesy sauce, and they’ve smacked a hash brown in right the middle of the lot.
Rova HQ was thrilled to receive a special delivery to give these bad boys a taste test, and it did not disappoint.
“Yum, the perfect hangover food,” was the review of one of our testers. “Unsure if the addition of the hash brown was strictly necessary though.”
Another had a spiritual experience eating her first ever Double Down: “It was absolutely unreal.”
She rated the contents as “Hashbrown 10/10. Chicken 10/10… The right amount of salty.”
“Just the right amount of cheese,” said another tester.
Clearly, this thing was a hit.
Being the intern who can’t say no to a free food opportunity, I had a fair go at the new flavours.
I can confirm the Korean Mayo was a perfect balance of the familiar zinger chicken, with the delicious (but admittedly fatty) bacon and cheese. The cherry on top? The slight kick from the mayo.

Yummo. Warning: proceed with caution and eat in moderation.
