Rapper Doechii has publicly addressed claims she mistreated her team at the 2025 Met Gala, after a clip of her yelling behind the scenes went viral.
ICYMI - a clip went viral following the Rapper’s attempt to hide her MET Gala look with a makeshift box and stay dry from the downpour of rain with multiple umbrellas.
Doechii is heard yelling from inside the box: “Give me another umbrella, NOW! … I need more f***ing umbrellas.”
Her energy definitely felt very stressed, and let’s just say fans weren’t impressed with the tone of her demands.
But Doechii has defended herself and poked fun at what was an “overstimulating” moment on TikTok.
“God forbid a girl needs more umbrellas,” she wrote over a video of her raising her hands, surrendering to the negative comments.
She captioned the video: “All jokes aside, this was such an overstimulating night, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world! This was the night we all dreamed of, and my team killed it (umbrellas aside) 😭🥴.”
Despite Doechii’s post, fans responded with a mixed bag of reactions.
“She even tried to defend herself instead of apologising 💀,” said one commenter.
Another wrote: “Saying sorry isn't hard.”
“I think we should all learn how to better express ourselves when under pressure 🫡,” wrote a third.
Meanwhile, others are defending her moment.
One person pointed out: “She’s literally just a human being.”
“God forbid a woman is stressed out for her first Met Gala🙄,” added another.
Someone else related, saying: “Girl, we’ve all been overstimulated to the point of being curt and some would say angry. Anyone with a high-intensity job would know that.”
Either way, gotta give it to Doechii, plenty of celebs would’ve just brushed it off, but she fronted up and owned it.
